I have been busy doing other things this last week. Sadly not had chance to get back to my castle... But have still been 'crafty'! The pre-school have only given a couple of weeks for us parents to get the kids nativity costumes ready so with help from an experienced friend, and of course Google, this week i have been mostly making the kids costumes! Abbie is going to be a lamb and Jack a donkey. Having found a lamb costume via google search i have spent some time gluing cotton wool balls onto a white t-shirt. It looks good but the balls keep falling off!! Cut the legs and toes off of a pair of opaque tights (lamb's arms) and bought black leggings (lamb's legs). Apart from the head we are getting there with that one (need a white hat tho??). To start with, Jack's donkey has been a bit easier - grey joggers and long-sleeve top to start (need to sew a panel on the top to make a belly). Made a tail using the arm of one of Neil's cast off shirts - cut and stuffed and sewed on lengths of black yarn! It looks really cool!! I am a bit worried about the mask.
In addition, i have been cooking a lot - my brother helped me to cook a superb bolognese, used up the mince to cook a fab chilli, made an ok veggie mince curry, an ok (but won't be making again) meatball casserole in the slow cooker, and today alone made gingerbread men with Abbie, chocolate caramel squares and toad-in-the-hole!!!
